This current research project investigates the potential influence that women-led city councils have on teen pregnancy rates. It explores the hypothesis that female-majority councils not only enact policies that contribute to reductions in teen pregnancies but also provide symbolic representation that inspires young women to seek better opportunities. The study aims to determine if the presence of women in civic leadership positions correlates with social outcomes that reflect their unique perspectives and priorities. This research sheds light on the multifaceted impact of gender representation in public office on health outcomes.
